I'll take Paddy. I play FG-62 irons and he is 3 parts of that legacy.

Phil is the modern-day Arnie. Funny part is if he continues the strong play, it might be because he's a little less so in personality during the round.

There has been a lot of talk about more focus on the golf at hand and less worrying about the other stuff. I think I read somewhere that he took only three questions during one of the post-round scrums. Mickelson usually has time for more than a couple. I know he signs like mad for fans after the round (saw him do it for countless people in Charlotte following a round at Quail Hollow).

But Lefty – along with Arnie and Save – are the sorts most likely to make birdie after firing a drive into the parking lot. Makes it fun to watch.

Hell f'ing no. He'll take an 80 on Sunday if he had Winged Foot and the career grand slam.

“This is a nightmare right here. You couldn’t have worse decisions than he’s had on this hole, I don’t care who you are. I know you all love Phil, but come on. You just have to make par on this hole. You can hit a 2-iron or 3-iron off the tee, another long iron onto the green. Two-putt and say, ‘See you later.’ You don’t have to run down the last stretch on a white stallion. You can limp in there and say, ‘Thanks for the trophy.’”

I think this is precisely what Koepka wants tomorrow.
Everyone and their dog will be rooting for Phil. Koepka wins.

Agreed. It’ll be fun for about the first five holes but I could see Koepka winning by three or four.

My only question, will his knee(s) hold up?

I heard Faldo reference that his knee(s) are heavily taped, and at one point he was practically doing the splits to avoid bending his knees while marking a ball.

Experience tells us that Koepka wins, and playing through obvious pain makes it a very good story. But if he putts like yesterday, he won't.

    Is Phil a good guy?

I've been around him all of once, at the 1996 Presidents Cup, when he was still young and basically stood in the press conferences and let Mark O'Meara do all the talking.

I get the idea he is a good guy. My friend Scott Michaux's father died recently and Phil took a moment to offer condolences at the end of one of his availabilities this week. That's a genuinely nice thing to do.

I also remember reading something years ago that he had a bit of Eddie Haskell in him, though I could be misremembering.

As an old guy, I like rooting for old guys. Especially if he's a good guy.

Looks like whoever wins is gonna have to go low to do it. Abraham Ancer's in with a 65, low round of the tourney by two strokes. Rose is 6-under through 11. Matt Jones is 5-under.
