I kept driving by lowly Dorton Arena while gasless in Raleigh earlier this month and shaking my head at how amazing it was to do PA for the Raleigh IceCaps those first two years when ice hockey showed up in the Triangle, and they were SCALPING tickets in a converted horse arena by year 2.

That was my first hockey experience back in the student days. An IceCaps game. Some poor goalie got five-holed, only the puck didn't go under if you know what I mean. Sympathy pains were prevalent throughout the barn.

 

I had my daughter today and didn’t get home to watch the Preds game until around 7:30. So I fast forwarded through all the commercials and just watched it straight through with no breaks to calm down. It was like freebasing uncut cocaine. The body isn’t made to take that.
