On the other hand, maybe take your husband's advice? :)
Retirement is a fun prize, and you still could tell stories as a side gig.

You never know how much time you get to be retired.

So we have done the retire thing in the last year and love it. We moved from CT to SC into a mobile home (just being formal here, I still actually call it a trailer) park. We have a condo at the beach that we rent out, I do the vrbo thing and the cleaning. Love it, it is my thing that I do best. I wasn't ready to live there yet, I still wanted a yard to garden in we still have a cat. My new home (double wide!!) is my favorite place I have ever lived. Luckily my sister lives down here also so we had that but...

I would recommend moving somewhere that has a bit of a community spirit to it. They have so many activities here and of course the pools and golf carts and the beach. I think that for anyone who retires, you need to gear up rather than feeling like you are slowing down. Be busy, meet new people, go to any local events you can find, maybe relocate, sell your house to your kids? Simplify your life.

p.s. 10% off for sj.commers on the condo.;)

Retirement? Yes. No time to waste. Doing everything to expedite- that's when the real fun starts.

We bought one last year. It’s great.
