Dems out this way were hacked off earlier in the session when GOP walkouts on several bills slowed business to a crawl. I realize Texas is gerrymandered all to heck and back and the voting turnout is already pathetic in that state - but Texas isn't getting more conservative with its growth, and yet the legislature seems to be acting as if it is.

 

The Oregon GQP didn't walk out to protect voting rights for its minority citizens. Big difference.

And our state (yours and mine) isn't gerrymandered to hell and gone to protect Republicans. There just aren't any Republicans in counties where people breathe through their nose, which also are the counties where 80% of the state's population lives.

I agree completely - they walk out on pretty much anything - and some are even facing recall because they DIDN"T walk out on one bill or another. And I can't believe a legislature would work through Memorial Day to restrict voting - given how much "respect" they have for all the rights soldiers have died to protect.
