Now, having read the story, the first blazing red siren is that the age of the kid and the timing of the supposedly-pregnancy-precipitated resignation do not match up .... at all.

Certainly a pertinent question for publicly demonstrative "devout Christians."

I still don’t understand what Tyler Summitt did wrong in the fact that he receives his mom’s pension. It’s certainly unorthodox but I’m sure it’s been done before. Would we be saying this if she had her ex-husband as the beneficiary? A childhood friend? Her fifth cousin? “They did nothing and they’re making $173k a year.” Blame UT for offering her a generous benefits package and her taking advantage of it, don’t blame the kid.

This doesn’t mean Tyler Summitt isn’t a scumbag. He certainly sounds like he hasn’t lived the life he preached.

Why is this even news? He's doing nothing.

He's muttering that he might get into coaching boys when his kid reaches the right age.

    Whatever.

I can give my pension to my child, but she cannot draw on it for as long as she could if she were my surviving spouse. I don't think that's unusual in pensions. It was an option I had.

That story is perhaps the most pathetic fluff I have ever read.

USAT version is on Yahoo. Only made it about halfway through. It's like someone was having a slow news day and decided to do an anniversary or "what happened to" story. WGAS.
