Valid opinion. I enjoyed the hell out of it, though.

Yes. Lin-Manuel Miranda has no history casting African-American actors and actresses in traditionally Anglo roles.

You should tell the author how you really feel.

Curious what people's experiences were going to a theater - particularly chain megaplexes. What's it like? Did anything get in the way of enjoying the movie?

I went to A Quiet Place 2 a couple weeks ago at an AMC. It was an afternoon affair the day it came out. Pretty empty. It was a few days before the mask mandates et al ended in Ohio, but from what I saw once in the actual theater, no one was wearing a mask. I sure didn't want to wear one for 90 minutes or two hours or whatever. There were maybe 10 people actually in there watching the movie.

Funny thing is, I bought my ticket online. It was at a theater I've been to many times. I know how they check your ticket when you walk in. Well, there was no one at the door. I walked in and saw a guy behind a table in front of the fountain machine not far off from the entrance. He was getting people drinks, so I just assumed that's all he was doing. I went over to the concession stand to get my stuff. Still didn't see anyone taking tickets, so I just figured I'd ignore it until someone said something. No one did. Turned out the guy at the fountain machine was scanning tickets. Oh, well, make it more clear. Worked out just fine for everyone.

Experience was the same as any other time except you're kind of waiting for someone to say you're doing something wrong. No one did.

    Tenet.

Nolan may not always be coherent but he can do a set piece like no one else.

And we should all have a Neil in our lives.

I had to watch several YouTube explainers after my first watch. And, even on my second, I struggled to understand the core concept.

We saw a movie in the theater for the first time since the start of the pandemic. The theater was mask-optional and the movie was brain-optional. We saw The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard. It was incredibly stupid but fun. It isn't even close to The Hitman's Bodyguard. My daughter described the experience best. She said she enjoyed it, but no way would she watch it again.
