I've always liked him - I figured he'd end up in Seattle. Curious who gets that job.

I don’t think Francis offers it to anyone until Rod the Bod is ruled out. I could see Seattle coming in with a big offer that Dundon won’t come close to matching.

I don't hate it, but not over the moon either. I do think he was the right hire given their choices. The thing I am most happy about is that they didn't hire Rick Tocchet, who I really didn't want.

To answer @Moderator1 's question, Tochett and Ron Francis were really close when they played together. ... it wouldn't be a surprise if Tochett gets the Seattle job.

If he was the right hire, why aren't you "over the moon"? What am I missing?

The Rangers wanted someone with NHL experience, and Gallant checked the right boxes. ... after David Quinn w/where they are in the rebuild. He was the right hire, because they were looking at him, Rick Tochett, Bob Hartley, Torts, maybe Mike Babcock. To me, they all had warts. ... Gallant had by far the fewest warts. But I can still think of quite a few coaches around the NHL that I think are better coaches than Gerard Gallant. Hopefully I am singing a different tune a year from now. I will be very happy if he makes me fall in love with him.

I hope the Babcock redemption plan doesn't finish before he has put in one full season at the University of Saskatchewan.

I’m guessing that Tocchet may end up coaching the Penguins.

Seems like Ferraro is the only poach from Canada. Maybe one of the networks will use Gord Miller as an extra pbp when they need one.

Looks like McGuire is on the outside looking in, maybe he gets Ferrari’s old job.
