Muh Muh Muh My Corona (virus)

Amusingly, I was at a BK recently where the franchisee information was covered with a sticker - meaning, their name and number were obscured. Unsurprisingly, it was a shitty BK.

 

BK is on the ropes as far as I can see: in our midsize metro area there used to be a dozen, now they're down to five or six, and some of those are just hanging on.
Wendy's has also lost a bunch of locations.
Steak N'Shake and Rally's/Checkers made inroads but seem to have stalled. Culver's seems to be coming on strong.

"Franchise standards" definitely take a big beating at the marginal locations. Even with the dining rooms shut down by COVID the places still look like hell.

 

I can think of maybe three BK locations in town that I trust to be clean and well run. Of the burger chains, I find BK more likely by far to be bad. Wendy's used to be consistently a cut above but has declined.

 

At this point, I don't give a fuck about some selfish asshole who isn't vaccinated. Get sick and die for all I care. Except, they keep the variants alive, and are still keeping my state from opening up fully (only 1.7% to go). So double-fuck them.

Almost everyone who died in my state the last 2-3 months or so had full, free access to a shot (or shots) that most likely would have saved their lives. I shed no tears for them. None.

 

I use the old Niven and Pournelle line a lot: "Think of it as evolution in action."

There are going to be plenty of unnecessary dead here come the fall.
