Just call a tech on the Clippers already.

 

Only seen that play run once before… and it was the Suns, two years ago under Igor Kokoskov.

Brilliant.

 

Ben Simmons would have kicked the lob out to the perimeter

 

Strangely enough I saw it run during an NAU-Eastern Washington game in like 2002. Jacks won it at the buzzer on the same play, lob from the baseline for a dunk.

 

the last 9.2 seconds took 19 minutes

 

One of the rare times Van Gundy being a dweeb who steps on Mike Breen’s every thought is him calling out that there’s no goaltending on an inbounds play in the moment. I had forgotten that and it was great to have that instantly.

 

Great everything by the Suns on that play. Pass… screen… tip…

If the ball doesn’t get touched on the in bounds, it doesn’t count. You can’t shoot the ball from out of bounds. That would be a fun rule change, though.

 

I was far too emotional in the moment to rationally discuss that ridiculous ending, but if the Suns go on to win the whole thing, one of the enduring images will be Booker with a busted beak selflessly throwing himself in the mix to screen Zubac to open up that dunk. I love everything about this team.

 

This Suns team is fun to watch. And the fact they may get Chris Paul a ring makes it better.

 

The Legend of Devin Booker is being written.

He took on Patrick “He don’t play” Beverly? Damn. Thew a screen on a seven-footer with Billy Kilmer’s nose? Damn.

 

I've been enjoying joining the Suns bandwagon for a while this season, and last night really made it pay off. That screen by Booker was such a great moment. It was juuuuuust enough and probably hurt like hell.
