    The P&G ad was great.

Happily I can say I never watched a full episode of the Cosby Show (I never thought the fucker was funny, at all, all the way back to the Sixties -- and particularly not Fat Albert), but from what little smidgens I have seen, the Cosby Show depicted the daily activities of a rich rich rich rich upper class family. The fact they were black was utterly irrelevant.

iirc when the show first came out there was talk of it not being realistic...a black doctor and wait, his black wife is a lawyer?who is gonna buy that premise?

not you, but people in this country forget how close we are to that. the idea that all this stuff was going on in most of our lifetimes.

You're wrong. It was pretty revolutionary in it's concep. It's certainly sad that the man he actually is has tarnished its legacy. But it was an important show at the time.

Don't be dense. I know that you're aware of the fact that there was never a black family on TV like the Cosbys until the Cosby show existed.

I liked his early standup stuff. His midrash of the Noah story was funnier than Lenny Bruce's.

I never liked Cosby, either. Behind his comedy, he always set himself up as the supreme authority on everything, though I never suspected his ego was so out of control in his personal life.

I would rather have some Ripple with Fred and Grady than a Pudding Pop with Cliff.

Bill Cosby was such an asshole that his quotes and fake quotes were passed around in the early days of FB in a way that people would brag about their one Black friend.

Bill Cosby wasn’t even the star of his own show.
    Felicia Rashad was.
