This is the best catch the Diamondbacks have made all season:

Magic Johnson: "Because of the -- the HIV virus that I have attained, I will have to retire from the Lakers." *Nick Castellanos homers*

"John Lennon, outside of his apartment building on the West Side of New York City, the most famous perhaps of all the Beatles. Shot twice in the back, rushed to Roosevelt Hospital, dead on arrival." *Castellanos homers*

If seven-inning no-hitters counted, nothing would have happened to the Indians for the third time this season.

I understand that the headline is clever. But does it really work as well if the opponent is also a NY team? If I were a Mets fan, I'd be hacked off. It's not like the Mets are bad; they're leading their (typically) underachieving, overrated division.

They’ve reached that point of the season where a toddler is tired and just lays prostrate on the floor and refuses to move.

My wife is a Cubs fan. We’ve watched a combined 20 straight losses between our two teams.

Still not as bad as being a D-Backs or Orioles fan…

Lord, grant me the confidence of unnamed scouts in a sports story…
