37 years ago. The Korean War was closer in time to The Cosby Show than the The Cosby Show is to us.

I don’t know what ESPN expected to happen when it said, “hey you two, let’s split the job.” I don’t care what’s in Rachel Nichols’ contract, that was always going to be an issue.

Also anytime you’re around a camera, assume you’re on a hot mic. She must’ve gone to the Thom Brennaman School of Broadcasting.

All this said, Jimmy Pitaro’s shop is off the rails. Adnan Virk got fired for leaking info and that leak had about one-10th the staying power that this does.

There is surely a racial component to this, but it’s more about crappy management.

No one is above the brand and all of you are replaceable.*

    *except me, Jimmy Pitaro

The only thing tangible about “race” is skin color.

I’m not acknowledging it because history shows exactly how high the cost has been.

Interesting discussion happened the other day when someone asked if anyone wanted to be the first person to sacrifice an aspect of their comfort via privilege to start setting things right. Would you give up a job, inherited property, or a berth in a desired educational setting? It was like the joke where a preacher walks into a bar and asks who wants to go to heaven. No one stepped up and then someone asked, "Do you mean right now?"

    Good Times
was about the struggle. The Cosby Show was about what came after.

In the Norman Lear world, you could substitute "The Jeffersons" for "Cosby," but good point.
