Also, with cord-cutting and individual team streaming (it’s coming, folks, and soon), Sinclair gobbling up all these smaller regional sports nets smells McClatchy- or Lee-esque.

I'm kind of amazed that Sinclair has the money to be discussing the NBC regionals. They're getting their asses kicked with the Fox regionals.

I've said it before, but I've been enjoying the hell out of the Sinclair failures because my station has been rumored to be for sale for years and my greatest fear was a deal with Sinclair. I figured they were out of the acquisition business. Maybe not. (My station is now being sold and it ain't Sinclair buying, so now I'm just rooting for Sinclair to bomb out on general principal.)

And if I'm Rachel Nichols I'm spending the next few months reminding the bosses daily that I have experience covering the NHL.

    3) Punishing a person for finding the video and sending it to the person being disparaged in said video is peak ESPN.

Also the balance of host/analyst numbers. The host is a “one-person who sits on the left” gig. A co-hosting situation would be more awkward on the air.

Studio shows are like sex. You can do it with two but they’re more magical with three.

Neil Everett is the most annoying SportsCenter anchor in the network's 40+ year history. There isn't even a close second.

I don't give a shit about the bartender he knows in Oregon, or the busboy he knows in Hawaii. He is not only the most annoying person on ESPN, he may be the most annoying person I've ever seen on television.

He's the Cousin Oliver of Sportscenter.
