Oh, hell. Brace yourselves for the nonsense.

J.J. Abrams has a new Superman in development. It features a Black Kryptonian in the lead role.

Watched The Heights with family last night. I guess I'm not enough of a fan of musicals because it simply felt way too long to me.

So, Stephen Dorff is 'embarrassed' for Scarlett Johansson and hates MCU movies. To quote a title abbreviated in one of his many forgettable movies: "So fucking what?"

Maybe we need a "Last movie trailer you watched" thread. I'm not sure if I want to watch this movie, but I am concerned some idiot is going to see this and try to make the river from the top of PNC Park.

"Absence of Malice." Yeah, I'm only 40 years late, but finding a Paul Newman flick that I haven't seen is a treat. And this board sure would have a field day with Sally Field's ethics ...

The Heights (or In The Heights)

Was disturbed by loud complaining from a Lil WhiGurl about 20 minutes in. "They should be ah-SHAMED! Where are the Black people?"

Ask and ye shall be answered:

"To your left trying to watch the movie!"

From somewhere in the vicinity of my seat:

    "¡Yo, Lil' WhiGurl! ¡Cállate!"

Then the usher came and saw a pale, dark blue-eyed woman and her date. The usher looked slightly embarrassed. My date was brown enough to pass for an hermano, but the voice was definitely that of an Hispanic woman. Was there anyone else sitting close to us? No? Well, never mind, then.

After the movie, we watched her look for a female human version of Speedy Gonzales and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed.

The movie was great. I love me some Lin-Manuel music.

Also watched the 2008 remake of The Women. Best performances from a very good cast. Laughed way too hard at Jada Pinkett-Smith during the last ten minutes. Anyone who has friends who did OB-GYN rotations will understand why.
