I don't think I've ever seen a Sbarro outside of a mall food court.

We used to have one in the Student Union at SJSU. It’s gone now but it was a go-to when we didn’t want to do the dining commons.

I assume the ubiquitous one is Sonny’s.

As for the good stuff, Mojo was my go-to BBQ when I lived in the 904.

I forgot about Bono’s. Another Florida chain was Woody’s.

Woody’s is the better of the two.

Call me crazy but I was a Sonny's fan when I lived in Florida. Best BBQ in the state for my money was in a little family shack in Clearwater that was only open a couple days a week for lunch and always sold out (when the patriarch died, the SP Times wrote a story); but for something dependable at any time, I was a Sonny's guy.

I live in what might be considered BBQ country, and Sonny's is one of the few reliable places around here for baby back ribs. For whatever reason most places sell St. Louis style ribs, which I don't care for all that much.

Sonny’s was fine, until I moved to Kansas City and found out I didn’t know any better.

You know you live in a superior barbecue city or region when the local places don’t refer to what they do as a style. It just is the way it is done there and the expected default setting.

If you ever get a chance to eat Buddy's in East Tennessee, it's good.
It's a chain centered around Knoxville but runs from Bristol to the Chattanooga area.
Best ever? No. Solid place to grab lunch? Absolutely.

The same is true for Smithfield's in North Carolina.
