So fun. And I think we've said it before around here, how much does the Euro Tour put the PGA Tour to shame with these?

Correct. I have played that golf course (it's been a few years), and I can verify it's a stern test for the SJ.com golfers. ;)

I just got done playing Timberstone in Iron Mountain (for UPSJ.com).

    Greens played like Pirates Cove.

We should do it off season at Atlantic City and play Seaside, which I think hosted the 1938 PGA. Wouldn’t be that hard for SJ.com Northeast division to get to.

Make sure the course has a tennis court. And a place to do pull-ups.

I played Seaside a couple of times in the 90s, when I was covering the textle industry.

Seaview. Snead won there in 1942.

That’s it. Shockingly cheap rates if you go at the right time. I think that was Snead’s first major.

I'm due for another trip to Atlantic City. Only went once, with my sister -- I was visiting her at U of Maryland and flew into Baltimore at night, and we drove to AC. Made about $800 in the wee hours on a hot dice table then went right back home, pulling in at sunrise.

It was. Won three PGAs in match play format.

Would be a fascinating case study as to why the PGA was in match play up to 1958 and what made them finally change. And why the U.S. Amateur still does match play.
