Your hamburger

There's a burger joint on the corner of 7th and Orange that I've passed many times and decided to stop in today during the aimless walk. Got a cheeseburger with ketchup and raw onion and I don't remember asking for pickles but they put them on anyway and I was fine with it.

    This hamburger satisfied me.

What do you like on your burger?

Depends on the burger I'm getting.

I'll default to American cheese, ketchup and mustard.

I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57, and french fried potatoes, a big kosher pickle, and a cold draft beer.

In all seriousness, my go to is:
    American cheese
    lettuce
    tomato
pickles (preferably bread & butter, but dill is fine)
    mustard
    ketchup
onion is optional, and I'm fine with or without

The big kicker is you have to be able to eat it without dislodging your jaw like a dang python. I can't stand getting a burger I can't physically eat.

Same depends where I am and what I’m in the mood for

    cheddar
    A tangier barbecue sauce
    Onions
Good pickles. Kind of briny and sour but not sweet
    Lettuce

Sometimes I roll ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles or relish and lettuce.

McDonalds: quarter pounder with cheese as it comes
In n out: double-double animal style
Five Guys: grilled onions, A-1, cheddar

Sit down: a barbecue burger or one with blu cheese

I go with fewer toppings these days so that I taste the beef more. I'm fine without cheese.

If I make it at home, grilled onions are a must. Just like sauteed mushrooms with a steak.

I know I'm in the minority, but I find bacon dominates the flavour too much.

Edit: I can't find red hamburger relish anymore. That used to be a requirement.

When I'm grilling them, and can choose my own toppings: American or cheddar cheese, onions, jalapenos, tomato slice, mustard. No bun (low-carb diet).

Of the chain restaurants, Red Robin has the best lettuce wrap, and we have a local place that does it pretty well, too. Their double cheeseburger includes an oniony mayo sauce, tomato, raw onion and pickles. Delicious!

I’m pretty simple. If it’s just a burger, I like ketchup, and maybe some mustard on it. If it’s a cheeseburger, then no mustard, just ketchup. Occasionally a bacon cheeseburger.

Bacon cheeseburger I had a few weeks ago at the corner of Alamitos and Anaheim.

I don't get the whole thin burger thing. Put some meat on that burger.

    But this burger was decent.

    Always with cheese.
    Always with pickles.
Always with ketchup or some sauce.

    Very rarely with mustard.
Never with tomatoes. I just don’t like them raw.

I don’t like paying good money for a frozen patty. Red Robin, I’m looking at you.

And a shitty bun ruins a good burger.

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, together on a sesame seed bun. That's a good, really easy, go to burger. And I like it. But if you want a great, custom burger, it's Limoncello's in Kennett Square, PA. So, bacon, tomato, lettuce, cheese, mushrooms, mayo sauce.
