Remember Rick Reilly's lame TV show? Lasted 16 episodes. It's That.

And why they hell is SI doing a Where Are They Now? deep dive on Jeter? I wonder where the hell Reilly is.

What is the fascination with trying to use the media as leverage in a contract negotiation? Someone educate me

I assume he wants to develop content as a producer outside of his normal First Take duties, and that's pay for that work.

ESPN used the media to take a giant shit on Maria Taylor a week ago; I assume this is her agent responding in kind.

The "Maria Taylor turned down $5 million!" story was leaked by management a day before the Rachel Nichols story broke in the NYT. I have no doubt it was someone's effort to make her look bad, knowing ESPN was going to look TERRIBLE in that article. This would be her agent using Stephen A's salary to lob it back into their court.

God help me, exactly the content I first came here for like 20 years ago.

Looking forward to media types who think their shit don't steam making fools of themselves in Japan. Mostly in the Wally Matthews tradition.

If Maria Taylor or Rachel Nichols is making $5 million a year, then SAS is a bargain at $12. He isn't especially my cup of tea, but he is a content machine for the network, and his post game riffs at the end of the NBA conference finals and Finals games on SVP Sportscenter are actually a thing of beauty. The man can talk, and talk well. He does some heavy lifting for that network.

He really does serve as their front of the sports page columnist, for better or worse.

My guess is he wants to make his own version of A Different World intro.

This can’t be true. @ChrisLong friends on Facebook haven’t heard of him and nobody on the east coast gets to see him play.

Who you gonna believe? Posters on FB, Stephen A. or JC?
    An unreliable trio.
