Perk is the only reason to watch any of ESPN’s NBA talking head shows. I would listen to him read a grocery shopping list

Stephen A’s key skill is being entertaining. It’s not about what he is saying; it’s about how he is saying it.

I heard Nick Wright sum it up well — you could be sitting at a hotel gate watching a tv with no sound, and if Stephen A is on you’re still going to just watch him talk for a good ten minutes.

He generally does a good job being loud and entertaining with a wink to the audience that it is all an act.

I think this only applies for some people, though - it's not like he has universal appeal. idk - To me, $15M *plus* all of the airtime you have to give to him seems like a poor idea. I'm positive that the ROI must be OK for ESPN though.

I always mute the TV or change the channel. It's not because I think he doesn't provide good insights; it's because I don't want to hear anybody yelling. I enjoyed reading his columns during his newspaper career.

Same ol, same ol on Screaming A, but this line at the end is a gem.

How long was tonight's halftime segment? A minute and a half?

Forty-five seconds of which was spent by Maria* introducing the cast, each of whom had exactly one line about the first half.

    * In ending the segment Jalen called her “Money T” which I presume he meant as a complement about her new contract.
