NBC providing a nice array of commercials with a couple of actual golf shots interspersed

The random bagpipe music on the bumpers is quite an interesting decision, since this tournament is being held in southeastern England.

Good catch. This is adjacent to a major pet peeve of mine, media people saying "British" when they mean "English".

During the Euro final, a writer on Twitter didn't know why fans were waving that strange red and white flat instead of the Union Jack.

Hicks also dissed the international feed for missing Louie’s par putt

Quote of the day yesterday, during a fan segment on the pubs in Sandwich. "There are no bad pubs in this town, but I'm going to check them all, just to make sure."

The problem with links golf is it’s like the Journey oeuvre: every song, or hole as it were, is the same.

Hicks is terrible, and big howdy do he and Azinger ever have the pom poms out for Spieth.

But Jordan is SO DEDICATED, he sprinted off the 18th green so he could practice putting!!!

As if he's the only Tour player to work on an aspect of his game after the round ...

NBC cheerleading or not, what a beautiful setting and great weather for this year's Open.

When I watch the Open, I want 30-mph wind, 50 degrees and rain.

When I go to Bandon, I want at least 20 mph winds. More fun.

50 is better than 80, but rain makes for a lot of work.

Same, but also with random hour-long windows of perfect weather when guys can fire right at the flags.

After Spieth missed that shorty, Azinger blabbered about he'd have to face the media and answer the questions -- almost as if that would be worse than the actual miss. He also harped on talking to the media during Round 2, saying how hard it would be for Oosthuizen and the leaders during the weekend. I'd like to ask Zinger when golf media turned into a firing squad.
