We’re not talking about the same things. That’s OK.

Alma unequivocally thinks he's better than everyone else. And I still love him for his cocksurity.

I don’t think he personally believes he is better. I do think he believes his ideas on how society should be organized are better (don’t we all), but I’m not sure that certitude comes from his religion.

There's definitely a streak of "I believe in God and Jesus, and you don't, and therefore I am better than you, and oh by the way you are scum" in his windup and pitch. It's there. I smell it like taco shits 2 days later. But like I said, I can appreciate it. To me it's adorable.

I need to clarify that I'm liking that post not so much for what it says -- I'm not even sure I agree with it -- but for the vivid descriptiveness of it. I got a good little laugh out of it.:)

Better has nothing to do with it unless we are talking cribbage, which I am decent at. I’m also decent at DraftKings NFL fantasy. Gambling. I sin. I also drink!

The church I attend is pretty progressive. And I like it quite a bit.

    And I respect that.
For one thing, it's not a religion that spends a lot of time telling others about how to live.
And for another, they're lot likely to get caught handing out $60K to some point guard's dad in the parking lot of a Louisville hotel.
    Oops. Wrong recruiting.

That’s ok. If you believe Jesus is God his father, I think I’m better than you.

Performative anger is our national religion.

Florida Catholic school sued for being ‘woke’

Disappointing. You never struck me as a biblical literalist. It's one thing to hear some TV-type preacher pretend "the Bible," is some singular book by the same author as opposed to the reality of it being an anthology, but it's another to see you argue with the same tactic.

How do you reconcile conflicting passages and opposing ideas in "the Bible?"

The post to which you were referring was itself talking about the “exclusive claim” of Jesus being the only the way to heaven. “The way, the truth, the life, etc” If you see some conflict with that idea in the New Testament, it’s news to me.

St. George - patron saint of England, never set foot in England. Always assumed he was British, but actually a Roman soldier from Greece who was martyred. The legend of George and the dragon and various other heroics became a thing in greater Europe a thousand years later during the Crusades and he became a folk hero there. Print the legend...as the story goes.
