So this is interesting. Trumpist states' portion of shots falls off in May. And, sure enough, their share of the cases starts to jump thereafter.

This country is going to lose its shit soon.

I didn't get both shots just to keep wearing masks, and I followed the fucking rules.

We weren't built for this and it's coming to a head soon.

My idiot son in law, a Vax denier, tested positive today. My daughter, who got the vaccine but could never talk the idiot into getting it, also tested positive today. We last saw them eight days ago. Our doctor said that since we have been vaccinated, we shouldn't come in to get tested unless we start showing symptoms.

Of course he says it's a nothing burger and just feels a little tired, and can't smell or taste. Fuck these idiots, starting with him.

I didn’t know how the sorting necessary for a “cold” civil war could happen. It seemed impossible. This could be it. Vaccinated people move to vaccinated areas and unvaccinated people to unvaccinated areas. I don’t think it would be actual war. It would be cultural and economic warfare.

Well, I'd have to think the side with the lower death rate would have a big advantage.

What's not helping: Olympic athletes and others who have been fully vaccinated are testing positive.

My wife's boss isn't a Trumper, but he wouldn't get vaxxed. They sent one of their kids down to Arizona to visits grandparents, she got sick, they went down to pick her up and now the whole family has Covid. Kids are fine but she said he looked awful on video today.

He's now out of the office for at least 10 days, and he doesn't work from home well. He's a great boss and she likes him but she's pretty pissed at him. Selfish assholes.

Which would be a good time for the reminder that the vaccine was never about being totally immune. It's about making it harder to catch, and less bad if you catch it.
