The father's name did not ring a bell for me and I checked: there's never been a kicker or player at any position who lettered at FSU by the last name of Roy.
    Just an aside.

Interesting. The tidbit about his dad is from his BC hockey bio. I never understand why people lie about stuff like that. His dad's name is Henry Roy.

That happens all the time. Seldom verified, and good on Hondo for doing so.

Gets sussed-out pretty quickly when someone has encyclopedic knowledge of a subject (and there always is one person who does).

I don't recall much fact-checking either when it was reported Dr. John Trump taught his idiot nephew 'a lot' about 'the nuclear.' Maybe he believed in eugenics as well.

I bet his uncle is George O’Leary.

If you were a walk-on, back-up kicker for a year or two at a Power Five school who was used as a extra leg during practice would you have received a letter? Probably not. But could you say you played on the team? I think so.

Lots of backup kickers never get a chance to play and thus don't letter.

That also means they're not on the team.

Just like how back in the day the prax squad was never listed with the active roster unless you had to fill a few lines.

As Ted Cruz says, karma is a remarkable thing.

Disagree. If you're in the locker room on game day, your on the team.
