China lied their asses off about SARS and H5N1 and basically every other contagious disease that they had which escaped their borders. They were called out on it, and they were reminded and warned about it during the earliest stages of Covid-19. They absolutely have some major culpability here.

25-30 years ago, it would have received far more criticism AND been more helpful in the wake of that criticism. Now, there’s just too much money invested there. China can lie, and hide, and cheat, and that’s fine. The world shrugs and the American media is in Steve Kerr mode.

Well, it gums up the works when the president is a fatfuck fascist backed up by a worldwide right wing propaganda machine, all itching to find some pretext to blame everything on the yellow (or any non-white) people.

Did your parents ever let you off the hook for things you did wrong because Billy from across the street did it first? Did your boss ever let you off the hook for not completing a task because Susan from accounting forgot to file her quarter expenses?

    Of course not.

Billy doing something stupid didn’t force you to be stupid too. Susan not doing her job didn’t prevent you from still doing yours. The US doesn’t get a pass on the utter shit show of Covid because China didn’t contain it (which we know was fucking impossible) or isn’t opening their labs. That will all come to light later. Hundreds of thousands of Americans don’t give a shit it was China’s fault because they died as a result of politicians failing to do their job, often deliberately. Those families couldn’t care less that China isn’t forthcoming with information because they lost loved ones due to dipshits insisting they don’t need to wear masks and we should force unvaccinated people back to crowded buildings because we didn’t want those people working from home anymore while we continue to do so.

So, yeah, history won’t be kind to China, but when it’s written about what the US did to protect its citizens, it won’t say but China and let it go. So just stop saying but China. It’s a tired deflection and allows traitors to this country off the hook.

    French President Emanuel Macron:
“I no longer have any intention of sacrificing my life, my time, my freedom and the adolescence of my daughters, as well as their right to study properly, for those who refuse to be vaccinated. This time you stay at home, not us."

In France, those who do not get vaccinated will no longer be able to go to restaurants, cafes (from the beginning of August), cinemas and museums (from July 21) and get on airplanes or trains (again from August). Alternatively, you will have to submit a negative test, which will no longer be free (49 euros for the PCR, 29 for the antigen).

Macron then announced the vaccination obligation for medical personnel and for those who work in contact with fragile people. As of September 15, a nurse who refuses to be vaccinated will no longer be able to go to work and receive a salary.

"We cannot make those who have the civic sense to get vaccinated bear the burden of inconvenience," Macron said. "The restrictions will weigh on others, those who for reasons incomprehensible in the country of Louis Pasteur, science, and the Enlightenment still hesitate to use the only weapon available against the pandemic - the vaccine."

    Bully for him.

Imagine if Biden floated such ideas. The civil war that Trumpists have craved would be imminent.
