    That is quite a story.

Fox has carved out a nice niche in college football. Is it worth its while to do some back-room deal making and let Texashoma know what the money would look like in an expanded PAC-12 or Big 10?

I think we can now assume this has happened. UT saw the future in the Big 12 and decided to look East.

I feel like the Big 10 is looking at Kansas and MAYBE Notre Dame...if they can get Notre Dame to commit to a conference.

Why would the Big 10 want o expand into a state with a population of about three million when it can poach school;s from more populous states like Florida? I think Florida State would bolt the ACC for the Big 10 and a share of the Big Ten network proceeds.

That ain't happening. Playoff expansion takes away the best bait any league would have had. Notre Dame won't give up its independence because freedom allows them to play in California every year, and that's critical to their big-picture thinking. There are more Californians than Hoosiers at Notre Dame, and those from the Golden State are more likely than others to be full-paying customers. Those parents forking out $78K/year are also willing to make large gifts to the school. Their kids are more likely than others to become big donors once they become alumni. Playing a national schedule allows the institutional development people to hold stewardship events in NYC and LA and Dallas, etc. That's not insignificant cash.

The ACC's grant of rights deal runs into the next decade. And FSU just doesn't have the boosters to pony up the exit-fee cash that Texas has.

If Kansas basketball and/or its proximity to Kansas City can't get it into a favorable Post-Big XII world, Kansas becomes as relevant as Wichita State ... and boy would that piss everyone off in Lawrence.

Iowa State and Kansas State will make excellent American Athletic and/or Conference USA schools.

If they want in, they've already said they'll stand for it.

    1. If this happens, Texas needs to learn real quick that they ain't UT.
    2. As a traditionalist, I just don't like 99% of the conference moves made in the last 10-12 years, even the conferences I don't follow that closely. I like regional, geographic matchups. That's what makes college sports special, to me anyway.
Texas A&M, Missouri, Texas, nor Oklahoma bring anything to the SEC from - as @dixiehack said - an OG fan perspective.
Boston College, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Syracuse should be kicked out of the ACC and East Carolina brought in.
