Yeah, tickets aren’t cheap anymore. I have been to several Indians games this year, including two in Wrigley, and there are few deals to be found. Even on StubHub, especially for weekend games, prices are high.

It's not just the tickets, but the effing fees. There are no way to avoid them since almost all tickets are sold online. Had a Padres ticket rep tell me they even charge the fees at the box office so there is no way to avoid them.

The Dodgers are honoring the 1981 champions on Sunday and selling some tickets for $19.81. I thought about going but those tickets are actually $27. Just be up front about it, fold the fees in and give us an out-the-door price.

Yep, that’s dumb, too. Going to the Indians game tonight — list price of $26 winds up as $33.

Fees? Fucking Ticketmaster invented it, charging separate bullshit separate handling fees for tickets for the same game going to the same customer.

Just reading an article about Farhan Zaidi (SF Pres/GM) and with respect to analytics he described it as "the illusion of false precision." That to me shows he understands both the role of analytics and the human side of baseball analysis. Love that perspective. We Giants fans are lucky to have him on our side.

Believe it or not - the A's have the highest average ticket prices in the AL West (though tied with the Astros), higher even than the crosstown Giants. Hell, I remember buying bleacher tix for A's games as a kid for $1 when Finley owned the team, even got a seat behind the A's dugout on halfprice night when Martin managed for $2.50. Against the Yankees no less. Place was packed solid.

They'll both make starts for the Twins next year.

It's a pretty decent deal for a 40-year old DH with nine weeks left on his contract -- one slots in as the Twins' sixth-best prospect and the other is 13th. They were 14th and 22nd on Tampa's preseason list. Tampa had the No. 1 farm system preseason, Minnesota's was 12.

Remember how desperate teams were to get people back in the seats after the '94 strike? I remember going to Yankees games for a buck in the bleachers. Now there's so much money to be made elsewhere and they'd rather bleed a few people dry than lure back a larger sum of casual fans.
