Nick Gage is not a heel? And shouldnt be jobbing out to Jericho in his first national TV match? I dont get what theyre doing there

Since he’s aligned with MJF, isn’t he a heel?

Of course Gage is the heel to Jericho's face. And I'm sure they'll let him get his shit in before Jericho eventually perseveres at the end.

It's not like they're trying to set up Gage as a contender for Omega. Probably just a one-off capitalizing on his Dark Side and Arquette notoriety before he fades back into obscurity.

My point is hes not a heel on the Indys right? Hes beloved for all his nonsense?

So why are introducing him to a national audience as a heel, with an obvious loss?

As if Jericho MJF 2 isnt happening, and as if theyre gonna end is on the 2nd of the 5 stations? Why not at least save Gage for 5th?

While I haven't really watched anything of his beyond the documentaries, the thing with Gage is there's no real heel/face thing with him. Fans at the places he wrestles aren't watching him to see his ring psychology. They just want to see him fuck someone up.

Being a one-off, AEW doesn't care how they set him up. And Gage is probably going to get the biggest paycheck he's ever seen.

AEW also isn't going to use the biggest and toughest challenge on a guy like Gage that isn't even on the payroll. It'll be against one of their own guys.

    Perhaps a debuting signee?

I don't think they'd use someone like Punk or Bryan for that. As for the COVID cuts, I don't see Braun coming to AEW any time soon and most of the others are mid-carders (or lower) who I don't think would match up well with Jericho (though maybe someone like Murphy).

I could see MJF ordering Jericho to face one of his own guys, like Sammy Guevara, with the stipulation that they can't just do the Fingerpoke of Doom bit. Or Jericho has to go 1 against all of the Pinnacle.

Why not Jericho vs. the entire AEW roster?

Just stumbled across this. Seeing the contrast between Jake now and Jake in "Resurrection" ... absolutely damn.

reminds me of a great Regal as raw GM bit. He told some babyface to fight Right To Censor. Guy asked “which one?” And without looking up from his paper Regal deadpans “All of them.”

Ha. This crowd in Miami doesn't give half a jack-shit about what's going in. Hell, even Wale was playing with his cell phone on stage during the Dawkins/Gable match.

They're worse than the sheiks in the crowd during those Saudi shows.

Naturally, Cena complains that Roman wouldn't come out to answer his challenge at the beginning of the show -- but Cena's nowhere to be seen at the end of the show, because he's probably already jumped on his plane to go back to the press junket.

And I know we all love Finn, but what sense does it make that he gets a universal championship match after spending the last two years in WWE's so-called "Triple-A"?
