Sure. That way 8 of the 12 slots in the championship will be filled by SEC teams.

If something like this happens, how soon does it just become a separate league?

Of the 125 D1 teams, there only maybe 40 schools, that legitimately can compete to be a top 8 team to qualify for the playoffs. 4 conferences of 10 teams. Call them. SEC. PAC BIG10. ACC. Or Call them ESPN, ABC, Fox, NBC. 5 Teams with the worst records every few years get relegated, and bring up the next 5 best teams

There seems to be a lot of scrambling and nonsense going on with all of this, but how much of this possibility played a role in the playoff proposal with no guaranteed bids?

Things are going to look a lot different if even just Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC happens. This is making sure "big boys" still have access if nothing remains as much as giving the little guys hope.

Lol. A bill has been filed in the Texas lege requiring state schools to get legislative approval to change athletic conferences.

Is Alabama Saban University like Duke is krzyzewski University. Bear Bryant is ancient history. As relevant as the 7 Blocks of Granite and Jim Thorpe. Or is Alabama closer to Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Ohio State football is going to trade a 98 percent win rate against Indiana, Illinois, Purdue and NW to play Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and LSU? I’ll believe it when I see it.

At this point Michigan belongs on the shame list more than Indiana.
