So how much do Punk and Bryan move ratings for Aew? I feel like they’re more on the “Edge” level of return than Cena’s, but I dont know

I think they're huge when it comes to wrestling and lapsed wrestling fans, but fall short of mainstream pull, like The Rock. I'm not sure who AEW could sign that would be a bigger deal.

    Cena, lol.

Bryan and Punk are massive. But are they massive outside the wrestling bubble? They’re bigger than anyone that’s ever been in aew before, or any non WWE promotion since TNA, that’s indisuptable. I just don’t know how much growth is possible at this point

I wonder at what point AEW starts to see diminishing returns from its signing spree? Like, when do some of the up-and-comers that were starting to break through (Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Lance Archer, the Inner Circle members not named Chris Jericho) start to see their TV time diminished because of the new additions and start grumbling?
When do some of the veterans who thought the grass was greener start to have second thoughts? Thinking there of Christian and Big Show, who made bigger news for their signing than anything they've done since.
Basically, when do they start running into the same problems WWE has had for a while, where there are more people on the roster than they can reasonably use? Or they go for a sugar high and start favoring the older wrestlers that are proven draws at the expense of the younger indie talent that they've slowly built around for two years?

    Clearly you’re not a Jerichoholic.

So the important question with Punk signing to AEW: will we get to see AJ?

fair point. I think Bryan and Punk being closer to their primes makes a difference.

like if Bryan or Punk are on TV after an NBA game their bodies arent going to be meme’d to death by NBA twitter

I'm a huge Jericho mark, but, he frequently takes breaks, and he never seemed like a WWE "lifer" to me. Like he was always willing to go tour with Fozzy for a year, if he was tired of wrestling. While he's had a longer, better career (arguably) than Punk and Daniel Bryan, I don't think he's had the peak of either of them.

Oof - since it's a WWE production with Blumhouse, I'm expecting it to have the same journalistic value as their earlier DVDs about the Ultimate Warrior and WCW. By the way, last year there was an announced McMahon documentary for Netflix, executive produced by the WWE and Bill Simmons. Wonder if that's still in the works. The Andre doc that Simmons and company did was pretty good, but Andre isn't an especially controversial figure in wrestling, more of a mythical figure who mostly lived up to the hype and billing.
