France has five players on its roster who are currently on NBA teams.
Two of those players play less than 16 minutes per game, ie are garbage time scrubs.

If you played an NBA season with those five guys as your starting lineup, you'd lose 70 games.

Now that NBA teams have figured out how to get Gobert off the floor by going small in the playoffs, there’s no excuse for that France team beating the USA.

How about “Stephanie Gilmore didn’t make the medal round in surfing?”

I'm not at all sure Pop is a great choice to be the coach so I'm not going to defend that. But I will say...

    (a) I have no idea what Pop's political views have to do with anything. If you are suggesting that they are a factor in the public sneering at the national team, they've been doing that since Pop was an assistant on Larry Brown's staff and Trump was a Democrat.

    (b) I don't see anything he said there that is all that debatable. France has three guys who were starters on NBA playoff teams this year, and the core of their team is the same for every international competition. They've played together for years. The U.S. has three guys who just got off a plane at 1:30am before game one. They've got JaVale McGee, Jerami Grant and some guy named Keldon. Does the U.S. have more talent? Sure. But Pop is absolutely right that it's hubris to expect this team to play together for the first time and automatically beat a top European team. You might pull that off with LeBron, Steph and AD on the team. You're not doing it with this team and it's foolish to expect it.

Well, no. Should we post the crap in Munich a bunch of times just to show how much knocking off the Americans meant to someone else?

It's a different game. That's not going to work.

Huge effort by the 4x100m freestyle relay team. We need more swimming relays.

First Olympics with YouTube TV and I'm impressed. If you're watching coverage that lists 3-4 events, click "Jump To" and it'll take you right to the event/coverage you want. It even broke it down tonight by the different swimming races.

Eh, I think I've become immune to the commercials.

The reason: I approach them the way I do any bus or plane rides I take to open any traveling abroad that I'm doing. In other words, they're all part of the trip, which I enjoy and look forward to, and so, I can enjoy (or at least tolerate with no issues) any prerequisites to it.

Likewise, the commercials have just become part of the Olympics-watching I'm doing each night. I just sit back, relax, don't let them bother me, and enjoy it all.

You mean the medley relay? Yes, for men, women and now mixed.
