The Canadian woman on this beach volleyball team currently airing on USA is like 6'4" and 80 percent of it is torso. Like the difference between the bottom of her bikini top and the top of her bikini bottoms might be taller than Simone Biles.

That's not like a sexual thing, it's a wow, humans are weird kind of thing.

How much did you win on that game? USA was a 12 1/2 point favorite. Didn't see the money line, but would think you'd get +300.

Google says Sarah Pavan, who is apparently 6'6" per Google.

    (a) I'm suggesting he gets more credit as a person than his usual grumpy comportment deserves because he says obvious things about Trump than millions of people think.

    (b) The guy's lecturing on semantics, Lou Holtz style, after a hideous two weeks of basketball. As for the "they've playing together for years" line, Dan Wolken, who admittedly is as subtle as a anvil, got it right: "The French team isn’t locked in a gym in Paris working on sets all year long laying in wait to knock off the Americans. They’re professional players who have to come together in a short window for these tournaments just like our guys do."

Not sure if it's due to political affiliation, but most in the media seem to kiss his ass despite him being a douche many times.

The point is, most of these countries roll out essentially the same team in every single competition. Countries like France and Australia have national teams that have, yes, played together for years.

The US has exactly two guys on this roster who were on the 2019 World Cup team. And one of the two just landed in Tokyo hours before game one.

    It makes a difference.

People respect how he built a franchise with pieces from all of the world. He's a worldly, sophisticated grump. Makes a bad choice to be Team USA coach, honestly. He doesn't appear to like or respect American basketball players very much. I'm not sure a ton of the media does, either.

Amazing France did it without Frank Ntilikina. Couple years ago he was a defensive stalwart in the world championships Didn't really stop anyone
    this season for the Knicks.

    I get your point.

Note: I do not find it strange that Pop would be lecturing someone on the virtues of France's team after losing the first Olympic game in 17 years - I find to be the very thing he'd do. He would have done it had his team won, too.

Why DO people do that to themselves?
