Nothing happening in Minnesota through seven and Houston through six

Headed to bottom of the ninth in Minnesota with nothing happening. And since the Angels have a new play-by-play guy it’s not a secret to local viewers.

It'll be hilarious in three years when the .194-hitting, first-year Single-A catcher the Mets sent to Tampa hits .375 with 40 dongs for the Rays.

No, he’ll have a weird stat line like .220/.420/.405 and somehow help them win 102 games. It’s the Rays way.

Went to my first MLB game since 2017 last night ... just took a nice little field trip up to Camden Yards. Got a Jim Palmer bobblehead, saw homers from Mancini and Soto, saw Matt Harvey (?!) deal for six innings, and had an usher that gave no effs when we moved down into better seats. (Had only sat down there for a minute trying to flag a beer vendor but ended up staying, ha.) Fun night at the park. And yeah, COVID is definitely over there. I had a mask with me just in case but no one ever asked me to put one on, you didn't need it anywhere in the park, and certainly nowhere in the packed Pickles/Bullpen/Sliders bar area behind the stadium did you see anyone masking.

Yankees went from being up 4-0 and throwing a no-hitter to trailing 5-4 in an inning. If Steinbrenner were alive yada yada yada

I think I've seen more utterly wretched, gutless bullpen performances this season than in any other. Then again, I watch a lot of Phillies games.

So the Pittsburgh Pirates had a really good leadoff hitter. He was 29 years old, a starter in the All-Star Game, and he only made $4.3 million this season. He is arbitration-eligible in 2022, then he would be a free agent. Of course, that meant they had to trade him.

They got three minor-league players in the trade, but only one is a quality prospect. Shortstop Tucupita Marcano, who actually opened the season in the majors before being sent back down, was apparently the fifth-best prospect in San Diego's system, not among the top 100 in MLB. They also gave the Padres $1.4 million in the deal.

Bryan Reynolds is arbitration-eligible for the first time in 2022. Better get him shipped out before the deadline, too!

How do people buy season tickets from that organization and maintain their self-respect?

Bucs are just 19.5 games out of first so they have a chance.
