The cop literally turned his body so his camera wouldn't see him throw the bag. If there wasn't a cell phone camera involved, I can pretty safely guess what would have happened.

Did you watch the video on the link I posted? The empty baggie belonged to a passenger the cops had searched. There was also conversation between one of the cops and the guy who shot the phone video that explained where the baggie came from. The phone videogapher edited that out of his post.

Whether the motorist deserved to be pulled over and searched is a legit question. It's pretty clear from the police body cam footage that there was no attempt to plant evidence, despite the phone video edited to look like there was.

OK, so why did the cop turn his body when making the toss? Did you watch the original video?

Follow-through! He learned his drug-planting technique from Eddie Feigner. (Yes, I watched the phone video.)

Honestly, the cop who tossed the baggie had a conversation with the guy with the phone explaining where the bag came from. The guy with the phone elected to omit that from the video he posted. The body cam video is a more complete representation of the incident. If you can't recognize that, there's no point in me continuing this conversation.

Let me be clear. This country lost its soul when civil asset forfeiture -- property confiscation without due process -- became SOP for law enforcement. We're almost 40 years down that path.

In 2001 I bought a classic car in Los Angeles and drove it home to Wisconsin. Just over the Missouri state line I got pulled over for doing 75 in a 70 zone. The trooper was very courteous, but when he brought a drug-sniffing dog out of the back seat of his cruiser I recognized that this wasn't just a traffic stop. Fortunately for me, he didn't find a roach under the floor mats.

As we drove through Missouri I spotted at least three other cars stopped by troopers with their trunks open. These weren't just traffic enforcements either. Traffic laws have become a gateway drug for police.

These Racine County guys may have been stopped on a fishing expedition. The laws allow that, just as they allow police to lie with impunity. Do I like either privilege? No. But I do believe the guy with the phone selectively edited his video so it suggested the cop planted drug evidence. I'm sure that baggie was chemically tested and came up empty. Maybe it held a sandwich.

Stuff like this is the opposite of helpful to the problems people face today.
There is a whole YouTube series of people intentionally doing gray area stuff then trying to antagonize the cops when they simply ask them to leave.
Just because you legally CAN do something doesn't mean there is a POINT to it other than trying to stir up shit.
I honestly think the cops were very professional and reasonable here.
Of course, the click bait titles and screen in no way reflect what happens.
