You mean the same way the Dream Team were USOT "teammates"? The way they stayed in a luxury hotel, away from their "teammates"? I know, apples and basketballs, but still...

I’ll help. It’s an injury, like a pulled hamstring or a torn ligament or Dak Prescott’s broken leg. You’re unable to perform. Doesn’t make you a hero or a villain. You have an issue that prevents you from playing and you work to get better so you can come back, if possible.

Throw in that Strug continuing to compete caused damage that ended her career prematurely. Oh, and in that famous picture, she was being carried off by a physician who molested 150 or so young female athletes... and Biles is the only athlete who was among them that I'm aware of being still in competition. Tell me she isn't tough.

Not too mention, millions upon millions have struggled with the additional psychological toll taken by the pandemic. Might also be a factor here.

Remember that Super Bowl a few years ago when Tom Brady said he wasn't feeling it, and he told everyone he was just going to sit it out?

I remember the one when Donovan McNabb threw up on the field.

PTI made a good point yesterday that these athletes don't have their families with them. For some sports, that's a huge change.

According to David Wallechinsky's "The Complete Book of the Olympics," the Russian girl who was performing when Strug vaulted would have needed a 9.972 had Strug passed on her last vault, and the highest score that had been awarded on any apparatus that day was a 9.887.

I remember that. Lots of people made a point of telling others how courageous he was.
