Risk is a brilliant game for unconcealing people's true motives.

Just as you can learn a lot about a person by how they play poker or chess.

I guess I'm glad the Nats went all-in on the sell off. No need to go for a half-hearted dump. The minor leagues have been a bit depleted, so hopefully this turns that around.

Also: As a guy who was buying $10 first-level behind-the-dugout seats back in the lean years, I'm hoping this means a return to cheap and readily available tickets!

Best part of the deal is the Giants still have Bart, Ramos, Loureano and other top tier prospects. Playing in the present and future at the same time.

I guess you have to feel for the Cubs, who spent nearly a decade painstakingly building a system only to have it all wrecked by a once-in-a-century event. And other things, too.

    The stuff of Shakespeare

Right, the pandemic ruined the Cubs.

Didn't seem to hurt all the teams they traded their stars to.

If your house is overleveraged and the money's not rolling in like it once was then you are fucked. Upside down.

The Giants are playing well this season but that lineup is REALLY old. Giving away Bart would have been foolhardy. I still believe he'll eventually have more career WAR than Casey Mize, whom the Tigers took instead.

In the immortal words of Lee Elia:

F*ck those f*ckin' fans who come out here and say they're Cub fans that are supposed to be behind you, rippin' every f*ckin' thing you do. I'll tell you one f*ckin' thing, I hope we get f*ckin' hotter than sh*t, just to stuff it up them 3,000 f*ckin' people that show up every f*ckin' day, because if they're the real Chicago f*ckin' fans, they can kiss my f*ckin' ass right downtown and PRINT IT.

They're really, really behind you around here...my f*ckin' ass. What the f*ck am I supposed to do, go out there and let my f*ckin' players get destroyed every day and be quiet about it? For the f*ckin' nickel-dime people who turn up? The motherf*ckers don't even work. That's why they're out at the f*ckin' game. They oughta go out and get a f*ckin' job and find out what it's like to go out and earn a f*ckin' living.

Eighty-five percent of the f*ckin' world is working. The other fifteen percent come out here. A f*ckin' playground for the cocks*ckers. Rip them motherf*ckers. Rip them f*ckin' cocks*ckers like the f*ckin' players. We got guys bustin' their f*ckin' ass, and them f*ckin' people boo. And that's the Cubs? My f*ckin' ass.

Maybe the Ricketts should’ve, you know, worried about the baseball team when they own A BASEBALL TEAM.

Not a real estate company. Not a restaurant group. Not a rooftop catering company. Not Donald Trump’s election financiers. A baseball team.

That ain't happening anywhere. The Trumpandemic's impact will be felt in many ways for many years.
