2021 MLB Regular Season thread

If the Cubs uphold tradition, let me be the first to toast the 2124 World Series champs.

 

At least the Cubs got something out of it none of their fans will ever forget.

Look how much money the Yankees have spent in the last two decades.
Somewhere on the order of about 4T. As in trillion.
Seems all so silly now, doesn't it.

 

Jose Abreu beaned tonight by 98 MPH Karinchak fastball. Scary. Seems OK, he stayed in the game.

 

They were rolling towards this dating back to 2019, when Golden Boy Theo pushed out Maddon. That core should have been locked up long before that. What a waste.

 

The Dodgers rising up as a juggernaut really plays into the Cubs not having the dynasty we all expected, too.

 

4 trillion divided by 20 years is 200 billion/year.

 

This core hasn’t had legitimate success since 2017. Why should they keep running the same core out there at three times the price for 8 more years at least?

 

One more reason why Chicago will always be the Second City.

 

You’d have thought they could develop one pitcher other than Hendricks. I understood the thought in focusing on position players to jumpstart the rebuild, but by the time they were swearing they could turn Tyler Chatwood around, they were in trouble.

 

It was my understanding there would be no math.

 

Oof.



They’ll probably win the World Series now.
