this will always be funny. They do give us occasional needed moments of levity, you have to grant these folks, that.

It was Boebert, who at least had formal schooling up until she dropped out in the 12th grade. Plus she has the life experiences associated with running a business. Cawthorn has done nothing.

I mean I am sympathetic to the fact that his accident certainly delayed his opportunities by several years, but he is still grossly unqualified.

If you dig into the details of how his accident happened and how he and his dad handled his subsequent lawsuit against his best friend, well, it's disgusting. And don't get me started on his creepiness toward women, his pathological lying or his affinity for white supremacist symbols and figures.

In the raw footage, Gaetz is repeatedly asked if he is a pedophile as he runs for the car. It's amusing in its own right.

Little known fact. When you're convicted, they only take you into custody if you are willing to go to jail. Your opinion on the matter is of the greatest importance. I'm sure he learned that back when he was prosecuting cases himself.

FWIW, that sounds like a man who, based on what he knows already that we don't know, is just waiting for the indictment. I'm surprised he wasn't looking over his shoulder as he was talking, to make sure people in windbreakers with letters on them weren't lurking.

I really don't understand the lapsing of the eviction moratorium. If landlords start evicting people left and right, they will find themselves with a lot of units collecting dust and not generating any income. Because I imagine, those being affected by the moratorium lapsing aren't going to just head on down the street and be able to rent another place. So you'll have a bunch of empty units and a bunch of people who are now unable to rent a place because of the Covid-related eviction. And lets be honest, these probably aren't the top of the line rentals in any event - these are places where people on fixed incomes, or low-incomes manage to eke out the monthly rent and put up with the sub-standard plumbing, crumbling paint etc. At minimum, the Ds should have put something together that would have allowed renters a 90-day pause to find a new place and avoid the credit implications of an eviction. Allow the landlord to take the owed rent off their taxes (or deduct it from their taxable income).

If people are on fixed incomes, their incomes didn’t change during the pandemic, did they? They remained fixed + a little stimulus money.

*Some* of our poorest “housed” citizens are living rent free, at least for a year. There are homeless vouchers through NGOs and nonprofits aplenty.

If said vouchers were really plentiful, America would not have the homeless problem that it has.

Home schooling would not be my choice as a parent but it produces plenty of well adjusted kids, some of whom are even progressive.

It has come a long way in the last 10-15 years.
