Something has to change with pitchers. Unsure what, but this isn’t working.

At the youth level, focusing less on velocity and more on getting batters out would be a great place to start.

And locating pitches and understanding situations instead of how much spin is on the ball…

But all you hear is 95 on the gun.

Hell, 30-some years ago I buddied up to a Pirates' scout at a local showcase and sweet-talked him into an impromptu interview. The gist of what he said was, "We can teach 'em how to throw anything ... except 90."

There are a nontrivial number of major league pitchers today proving that is incorrect. They don't know how to pitch at all, but they can throw hard. They may have been taught, but they didn't learn.

Are they not getting batters out now?

    Mets are going to Mets.

Did everybody pass on Rocker because they did due diligence, or are the Mets just dumb, cursed and cheap? Or all three.

The Dodgers are bringing Mookie Betts off the IL and starting him at second base today. This would be his second appearance there this season, only his fourth since 2014.

Taking an outfielder just off the IL and putting him in the infield seems like an efficient way to get him back on the IL.

One report I read had them putting him there to cut down on how much running he will have to do on his troublesome hip, which was the same logic they used in wanting to play Bellinger more at first base due to his hamstring issues.

I'd bet somebody blinks in the next 31 minutes.
