Are we sure the intent of that post didn’t have more to do with NIL and appealing to recruits? The post was in the middle of a string of posts that afternoon that focused on either Jayhawks in the Olympics, or a new program — which was announced that day — helping student-athletes create their own brand.

I'm sure it's all tied together as a program to keep KU out of the Sun Belt.

I don't think Kansas could get admitted to the Sun Belt if they tried. I don't think the Sun Belt wants a football program that is such a train wreck.

    Leipold will clean this up.

Can you imagine how that poor guy feels? He makes the move to the P5, to the worst football school currently in it, and the conference promptly loses UT and OU.

Dan Wetzel, Pete Thamel & Pat Forde podcast takes on the UT/OU move, possible effect on March Madness, and parrots being exiled. This was the first of these podcasts I listened to, and I'll damn sure be back. Entertaining and informative. Good shit, Maynard.

He feels like he wishes they could leave this week so he could cash his checks without worrying about a pair of games where the opposition will snap his kids in half like rotting twigs.

They touched on this tweet in the pod linked above. They heaped lots of ridicule on KU over it. It really was a great podcast. I don't often get to hear people with their degree of access and inside knowledge sit and shoot the shit, and they were really on their game.

Given that he had a number of his players follow him to KU, this very well may be true.

Add realignment to the traditional silly season and you get all sorts of posts. This might be doable, but I don't see that it will bring in any more money. I understand the urge to do something instead of standing around waiting for the hammer to fall, but I'm not sure this is a winner.
