They lost me when they used the word "ecosystem."

They need to leverage that synergy.

And "Strategic Alliance" is capitalized. But one of the Tour's more obnoxious all-caps usages will go away next year since FedEx St. Jude is replacing THE NORTHERN TRUST.

    Answer: "Race to Dubai"

Question: What three words have never been uttered in the English language?

With the Super Bowl now a week later, Waste Management and Pebble Beach switch places so Scottsdale stays on Super Bowl weekend and Pebble gets the nice spot between conference championship games and the Super Bowl. Torrey now is played the weekend of the conference championship games. Torrey is usually CBS's kickoff event but will probably have to cede it to NBC since it will have the AFC title game that Sunday.

Yeah, the BMW moves to Wilmington Country Club in my old home town. One of my brothers is a member (so's Joe Biden and many folks I went to high school with, it's a big place). Great tough course, had a US Amateur there back in the '60s. Spectators might have to park in Pennsylvania though. My brother's very conflicted. He told me, "look, this is great for Wilmington and the golf scene here. But for me personally it's a pain." He lives pretty close to the club.

Its not an Open, but when the Open comes to Olympic, they take away the course for at least a month prior (think they did the same to Harding Park before the PGA last year).

We just gonna overlook DC getting a tour stop back?

Wilmington has two courses, North and South, so the shutdown prior to the tourney is only two weeks, not a month. My brother is resigned to not playing his home course (WCC has arranged playing privileges for most top snooty Philly courses, he won't suffer). He just can't hack losing his one safe place on Earth. True story alert: Almost 20 years ago, the NFC title game Donovan McNabb finally won, I was at a Philly airport hotel covering the game. My brother called and invited me down to WCC to dinner. Well, WCC is closer to the Philly airport than downtown in real time figuring. So I went. I got there, and he took me into the restaurant through the golf locker room, the kitchen, the golf grill room, and then the formal dining room. This is in mid-January. There aren't many folks. Every employee is "Hi Mr. Gee (my brother), "how you doing Mr. Gee?" and so on. It was exactly like the Copa scene in Goodfellas with the slight exception my brother knew all their names and stopped to schooze a little bit. I'll bet member Biden does the same thing. I wound up having a cheeseburger and a martini because of course.

Cool story. Yeah, I find the private courses snooty but I enjoy playing them and they usually have better service than any high end restaurant.

It's a one-year deal. President's Cup is at Quail Hollow so Avenel picked up the Wells Fargo for the year.
