    Too bad Karl (not Carl) gets credit for time served since he's been held for the six months. These folks need to serve much longer sentences or we'll be back in the same situation.

    I'm not sure this is enough of a deterrent as much as a badge of honor.

    I think we need to look at these people individually, even though they are all idiots. The guy bloodying a cop with a flagpole is facing much more serious charges than the guy like this, who pled to a misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. I'd imagine most people who have ever copped to that charge didn't get hit with a 6 month sentence and a fine.
