That would be amazing just for the likelihood James Young would murder Dennis DeYoung on stage.

The fact Styx had four straight triple platinum records is wild. And they had top 10 hits in three different decades thanks to "Show Me the Way" hitting big as a Gulf War anthem. Alas, they're still waiting for that top 10 hit in a fourth decade, but they have a new record out!

Is Styx currently the biggest selling band not in the HoF. In the last 10 years you've seen the Doobies, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, The Cars, Journey, ELO, Chicago, Cheap Trick, Kiss, Rush and Heart. Half those bands have toured together in some form or fashion on the state fair and casino circuit. Problem is, you let Styx in, then you have to let REO Speedwagon in, and you let REO in, next comes Foreigner and maybe even Richard Marx.

If you go by records sold, and the fact that Maroon 5, Coldplay, Linkin Park and Backstreet Boys aren't eligible yet, the top selling band/group not in yet is The Carpenters. Foreigner is the top selling eligible band that has not made it.

Coldplay is eligible in 2024. That’s when Armageddon arrives.

My little Wisconsin teacher's college put on a twin-spin concert back in the mid '70s featuring Styx and REO. I forget which band was the opener.

REO was a great Midwestern rock band up to the point of their 1976 live album. After that they did the pop rock cash grab.

It could be the show at your alma mater that was the siren’s song that led them down that path. They would have been the opener, Styx was the bigger act at that time.

REO saw what Styx was and made the decision at that show to morph.

Styx is to blame for the demise of REO.

She’ll never get in but Karen Carpenter was a wonderful talent.
