Wow! I loved Smurfs when I was a kid. Pretty sure my 8-yr-old could design this game on his own in Roblox! LOL

I was born in 1984, and this is my answer as well. I think I was 4 or 5, so I'm kind of surprised that my parents got me one, or how they knew I'd love it. They had an Atari 2600 that I remember playing *after* the NES, but outside of some really short dalliances by my mom (she loved Dragon Warrior 1 and Shadowgate, and beat both), neither one played games. Other prominent games of my youth were The Legend of Zelda 1, Dragon Warrior 1 and 3 (two was impossible to find, and I didn't get 4 until I was a teenager), SMB3 (again, two always seemed in short supply), and Castlevania 1. Oh - along with literally dozens of games that we (sister and I) rented from the nearby Stop & Shop.

ETA: Shameless plug, but myself and two buddies hosted a podcast about pre-2000s games for a couple years. It has 200+ episodes and it's on Spotify, and has its own website, too. For the interested, you can use the tag links to find episodes by theme, like SNES games.

HA! My eight-year-old might have the same game-designing app as yours. And yup, her games are better than anything I played at her age (or slightly beyond).

I actually played the arcade version of that back in 1986-1987.
