The Phillies briefly changed their name to the Blue Jays in 1944 and '45, but it didn't catch on and they changed it back to Phillies in 1946.

The A's could just wear one of their old iterations, either Philadelphia or Kansas City. Weren't their uniforms blue and white at one point, instead of green and white and gold?

Were blue and white for decades until Charlie Finley changed the colors when he bought the team in the mid-'60s.

My favorite one: The current Orioles started out as the Milwaukee Brewers for a year before moving to St. Louis and then Baltimore.

There also was an AL Baltimore Orioles franchise for two years, before a whole bunch of shenanigans that you can look up, and that franchise was replaced by the current Yankees, who really don’t claim the Baltimore team as their history and historians are split on whether those two Baltimore years count for the Highlanders/Hilltoppers/Yankees franchise.

So, you could have a current Yankees-Orioles series become a throwback Orioles-Brewers series with the Orioles switching teams and a team that has nothing to do with the current Brewers.

    Yep.

I have a blue Philadelphia A's cap. It's one of my favorites. The A's elephant is one of my favorite team mascots.

Alternate uniforms! Now why hasn't MLB thought of that yet??

The Dodgers would have great choices: Robins, Superbas, Grooms, Bridegrooms.

My dad grew up rooting for the PCL Angels and he told me they had quite the rivalry with the Hollywood Stars, so I don't know that it would make a lot of sense for the Angels to dress up as their namesakes' biggest league foes.

True, but the Angels were the second MLB team in LA, just like the Stars were the second LA team in the PCL. I suppose they could wear Vernon Tigers unis. Just thought for the Angels to participate they'd have to be someone other than the Angels. Texas could be the Fort Worth Kats.

I've never seen the Indians in Naps uniforms, or the Dodgers in Supurbas uniforms, or the Cubs in Orphans uniforms, or the Red Sox in Pilgrims/Beaneaters uniforms, or the Braves in Rustlers uniforms, etc. Have you? All on the same weekend?

The Rays break out the Devil Rays unis on occasion. A few weeks ago, they celebrated the late ‘90s with “Dial-Up Night,” complete with ‘90s tunes and the green-gold-purple gradient of the second-worst jerseys in MLB history.

OK, I'll bite: Which jersey beats it out for worst?

Swept the Red Sox in those.

And which of the late 1990s flash-forward uniforms are better than those?
