    Will Smith also took Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Nots" for his "Men in Black" theme song. I'd never heard of the former until just recently, and after hearing it the MIB song almost sounds like a parody.

    The former is fantastic. While I generally like Will Smith, he and his team should have done something different for “Men In Black.”

    Also, since Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire are two unquestionable go-tos for me, hearing some of these “samples” are somewhere between terrible and outright insults.

    Do better. Better yet, be original.

    Not only was it a straight cover, they got Aerosmith to participate in it and it relaunched Aerosmith's career.

    I still think a "home and home" redo of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion" would've slayed the charts in 1988. Madonna took the year off and left it to George Michael and an emergent G-n-R.
