As long as the filibuster exists, no party with less than 60 senators (or 60 in its caucus) controls all of Congress. But you already know that.

Why did Biden and his advising team think Pelosi and Co. should have passed a law? Because he and they are stupid idiots?

You can get things done in the Senate. They just did, for goodness sakes. But it’s harder to get things done when either party - whichever one is charge - takes a “heads I win, tails you lose” perspective.

It is dysfunctional when a president just authorizes shit. It was when Obama did it, it certainly was when Trump did it, and it is. The position has been elevated to that of a king, subject to being scolded and cajoled without end.

Then you blame the voters for not sending back representatives who want to govern.

Cawthorn bragged that his staff is entirely focused on comma. He would avoid every floor vote if he could get away with it.

Biden can think they "should" have passed a law all he wants.

In the real world the rest of us live in, long as the filibuster exists, no party with less than 60 senators (or 60 in its caucus) controls all of Congress. One party with 41 Senators can bring the entire body to a complete standstill. But you already know that. Don't be that guy.

In the end, Bill Haggerty is as toothless (given he's from Tennessee) as one of Dan Haggerty's grizzly props. This bill will pass.

It's still BS a threat of a filibuster carries the same weight as a Senator taking the floor and speaking for 24 hours.

It hardly matters what I am or not. You’re making a commentary about Biden - and his team.

It’s a lengthy NYT story about a world nobody lives in, to boot.

Serious question: Can Moscow Mitch still block a U.S. Supreme Court appointment right now if one resigns or retires?
