When I first heard it I thought it was dinger, owing to the mascot (and it just seemed unlikely, though obviously not impossible, someone would be screaming the n-word at the top of their lungs at a game in 2021) but also because my brain was primed to hear that word being yelled at games from my time in Central Park on Saturday watching a softball game. A group of like 10 kids wandered to one of the fields and for every batter would chant "We want dingers! We want dingers!" over and over and over again, even for the players who couldn't hit a dribbler past the pitcher. It was cute....and then borderline annoying.

 

WTF?

 

So is this Dingergate or is it Dingerghazi?

 

Given the times we live in as evidenced by MLB and Barstool in talks I vote Dingergeddon.

 

But Shoeless Joe Jackson can’t be in the HOF because reasons.
