Do you agree Dick Blumenthal’s comments on TV weren’t the first time someone in power suggested/intimated Trump had broken the law?

9/11 families say Biden not welcome at memorial events unless he releases government evidence

Families of hundreds of 9/11 victims have told President Biden he is not welcome at this year’s memorial events marking the 20th anniversary of the attacks unless he declassifies government evidence beforehand that could link Saudi Arabia to the attack, according to a letter sent to the White House on Friday and obtained by The Washington Post.

“Six months ago the 9/11 community had great hopes that President Joe Biden would be the long lost champion of those directly affected by this murderous attack on our nation, finally placing the values of truth, justice, and accountability before the interests of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” stated the letter, which was signed by about 1,800 family members of 9/11 victims, survivors and first responders.

While I’m no fan, Asa was and is in a rough spot.

He’s an actual Chamber of Commerce Republican surrounded by Trumpists. Plus, he’s term limited. If he had vetoed that bill, the GQP would have overridden it - and they made that clear. He thought the Delta surge would make them reconsider it, so he called a special session to rework the law and the Trent Garners, Bob Ballingers and Jason Raperts turned the crazy knob to 11.

And now we are going to get Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

He can be presumed innocent in a court of law while his actions and the evidence clearly indicate his guilt. This is like after a shooter kills seven random people and is caught at the scene, a gun registered to him in his hand and bullets that match that gun in the victims. He's still the "accused killer", but we all know he did it, even if his family and friends refuse to believe it for their own reasons.

That's the influence of Trump, who was never wrong or screwed something up. Some underling did it, didn't follow or misinterpreted his orders. "I take no responsibility at all."

This was a Senator speaking out on Sunday about testimony on the previous Saturday. He probably wasn't even the first Senator to do that, but it's not like it had been happening over and over for ages.

I recall George W being asked if he could think of any mistakes he made during his first term, with Iraq in full post-invasion upheaval. "Nope," he couldn't think of a thing he had screwed up.

I understand the impulse to say out of disgust and frustration that if they elect her they deserve all the grief that will result . The problem is that there are good and decent people who live there that who won't vote for her but will still get screwed over. It's like someone on Twitter saying "Fine, screw the red states. Boot their "getting $1.35 for every dollar they pay in taxes" asses out of the union and let them sink".

The Founders wrote the Constitution in order to give power to the Federal government to make overall policies that overrode the fractious and and competing states for the good of the country.

They also never intended Blacks to have any rights, or women to vote, or to spend federal tax money to build airports, etc. etc.
