They checked off a lot of boxes this week.

    It usually does.

I mean, it's not a postmodern Christian show, but it kind of is. A lot of comedies are today. There's a lot of instructiveness on how to live embedded within the stories, as is the idea of personal growth, tolerance, etc. That's not the world Larry David inhabits - the comedic world he inhabits in Curb is frankly my preference, because I think it's far more true to the world - but I would like to think the sports world of Ted Lasso is how people like to live.

I’m not typing this lightly; That might have been the best episode of Lasso to date because of an actor that has one prior acting credit.

The cobblestone line was so brilliant and I think 90% of the viewers didn’t hear it.

I finished "Dr. Death" on Peacock tonight. And Joshua Jackson should win a Golden Globe for that.

They tied so many games because they have such a woke coach.

It's funny, i said the exact same thing. I've never seen a white guy with a thicker head of hair. I didn't notice his eyes.

I am trying and barely hanging on with this show.

I went back to watch Bojack Horseman and remembered why I hadn’t watched all the episodes: It’s OK for killing time, but not worth setting aside time to watch. As an indication of how bored I was Sunday, I bailed on coverage of some golf tournament in which they were trying to raise money to FedEx sick kids to St. Jude’s and switched to Netflix. I was waiting for the family to return from out of town. It was still too hot to play outside and all the housework was done.

Funny - it's one show that I will watch with full attention, no fiddling I'm my phone or tablet. Very high on my list.

Malice in Palace today on Netflix.

I admit I bought into the cornrows = thug stereotype in aughts; I was so wrong. Jermaine O’Neal is an articulate smart guy.

This has got to be the single worst scene in the history of TV.

We watched the first two episodes of FX’s Reservation Dogs about four teens trying to get enough money to escape rural Oklahoma. The creators, writers and much of the cast are indigenous people and the show gives a different perspective into Native American life. Taiki Waititi and a less-famous filmmaker, Sterlin Harjo, are the driving force behind it.

I found the production a bit rough in places, perhaps that’s intentional. The writing and plot were good. We’ll probably watch the new episodes as they come out on Hulu.
