"Logan's Run" is a good bad movie that I'll watch every time I see it on.

The premise -- you can only live until 30 in a domed city before the timer device imbedded in the palm of your hand starts blinking, but are "reborn" through Carousel to limit overcrowding -- is interesting, but it suffers from a terrible script, ham-handed acting, cheap special effects and a weak ending. And what the hell is Box supposed to represent?

But Peter Ustinov's old man is so awesome -- quoting The Naming of Cats by T.S. Eliot and generally acting befuddled about how he wound up in what's left of Washington, D.C. (never mind how he's gotten food and water for 70 years) -- that I wander around the cabin sometimes, just saying, "Oh, my!" to amuse Gwen.

I saw it when I was 17, so I've made it TWICE past Carousel!

To be honest, ST: The Next Generation had a similar plot with Lwaxana Troi and guest star David Odgen Stiers that was way more poignant and well-written.

Farrah Fawcett was cast to lure viewers. Jenny Agutter made her breakthrough appearance, then blew it all on "American Werewolf in London."

Sounds like a metaphor for any journalism career in the 21st century.

I rewatched the whole thing on Monday with my daughter, one of her favorites. Love the second too, too.

Another bad one that's good, Northshore, the surfing movie.

I absolutely crushed on Janine Turner in Northern Exposure. It must have been the one role that suited her, because she was epically bad in Cliffhanger.

Surviving the Game from 1994, starring Ice T, is the perfect combination of terrible and rewatchable.

Do you like actors in the nadir of their careers? I offer you Busey, F. Murray Abraham and Rutger Hauer.

This scene should whet one’s appetite. Who else but Busey could deliver this monologue?

The great thing about Northern Exposure is that nobody saw it coming. Premiered in the summer of '90 with 8 episodes, a mostly unknown cast being pleasant and taking you to a different place. Did so well, they did 7 more the following spring against real competition and were added to the fall schedule. Heck, TV is mostly about putting together a cast you like spending an hour or half-hour with each week. Is there another scripted show that began in a July and ended in a July and had more than 100 episodes? I still can't believe it won a best Drama Emmy.

Re: "National Treasure" -- How many watch a movie because they like the girl or like the guy? Whether they like the movie or not, they like the actor. Diane Kruger was also in "Troy" as Helen of Troy, the woman so beautiful men would go to war for her.

"Troy" also fits in this topic. Every time I watch it, I hope the Trojans can pull out a victory this time. "Burn the horse, burn the fucking horse."
